E-Z Freezin™ Semen Extenders are recommended for use in equine frozen semen breeding programs.  These extenders are used to freeze semen in liquid nitrogen for long-term storage.  Two E-Z Freezin™ Semen Extender formulas, Lactose EDTA and Modified French, are available for freezing semen.  Semen from individual stallions should be tested in both formulas to determine which yields the best results.  Both formulas are sold in 15 ml hermetically sealed packets. 

Animal Reproduction Systems takes great care and pride in the methods used to produce, test, package and store E-Z Freezin™ so that customers receive a fresh, quality product. E-Z Freezin™ is a perishable product that must remain frozen.  E-Z Freezin™ extenders must be placed in a freezer immediately upon receipt.  Do not thaw packets until immediately before use.  Discard any extender not used on the same day it is thawed. Do not attempt to refreeze extender.  ARS recommends that extender be used within six months of purchase.  Fresh batches of extender are produced and stocked throughout the year to support this recommendation.

All shipments of E-Z Freezin™ Extenders include certification of production using eggs that are produced by a flock that is certified Specific Pathogen Free. The flock is certified free of the following pathogens: Avian Adenovirus Group I, Avian Adenovirus Group II (HEV), Avian Adenovirus Group III (EDS), Avian Encephalomyelitis, Avian Influenza (Type A), Avian Reovirus, Fowl Pox, Infectious Bronchitis-Ark., Infectious Bronchitis-Conn., Infectious Bronchitis-JMK, Infectious Bronchitis-Mass., Infectious Bursal Disease, Infectious Laryngotracheitis, Lymphoid Leukosis (A, B), Lymphoid Leukosis Viruses, Marek's Disease (Serotypes 1,2,3), Mycoplasma gallisepticum, Mycoplasma Synoviae, Newcastle Disease, Reticuloendotheliosis Virus, Salmonella pullorum-gallinarum, and Salmonella species.

Shipping and Packaging:
Frozen, Overnight Shipping Required. E-Z Freezin™ Semen Extender orders will be shipped on Tuesdays using overnight service to minimize the risk of thawing. Because this product requires an insulated inner container, dry ice, and an outer corrugated box for shipment, a packaging fee will be added to each order. A $20.00 packaging fee will be applied to orders of 10 packets or less. A $25.00 fee applies to orders of 11-40 packets. Please call for the packaging fee for a larger order and shipping costs to your location.

The formulas for these complete Extenders were evaluated by Colorado State University Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology Laboratory.  Each E-Z Freezin™ lot is evaluated by the Colorado State University Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology Laboratory to ensure a superior product.
